Honolulu, Hawaii, United States

The most populated island, Oahu is fairly mountainous; two high ranges stretch the width of the island on the east and west sides. Between them is a farmland valley where pineapples are grown for fresh-fruit markets only; in their midst, Dole has built a huge souvenir shop. Honolulu, which is Hawaii's capital, hugs the southern coast of the island of Oahu. To the west of downtown are Pearl Harbor and the airport; to the east are Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head, an extinct volcano that is often featured in picture postcards.
