Start your half-day introduction of this coastal region by taking panoramic photos of the Gulf of Trieste from a scenic spot above the town of Izola. This is an old fishing town and a municipality in southwestern Slovenia on the Adriatic coast of the Istrian peninsula and the name originates from the Italian Isola, which means 'island'.

From there you will head to the charming village of Piran, the oldest and best-preserved town in Slovenia. You will have 2 hours of free time in Piran on your own, and you will quickly appreciate why this 15th century village is commonly referred to as a museum town.
