Hidden away for nearly two centuries, the lavish tomb complex features Italian Carrara marble and decorative plasterwork adorned with pure gold. Walled up in the 17th century by Alaoite Sultan Moulay Ismail, the site wasn’t exposed again until 1917 when it was seen in aerial photography.

Meander next through narrow streets on your way to the alleyways of the Medina, passing by the Dar El Bacha Palace, a grand private residence.
