While close in proximity to the United States, Mexico offers an exciting variety of food, dancing, and art that will make you feel far from home. Whether you travel to resort towns like Puerto Vallarta or Cabo San Lucas or slightly less touristy spots like Costa Maya and Ensenada, you'll find plenty of water activities and culture awaiting you. Scuba diving, sport fishing, snorkeling, parasailing and kayaking are all popular activities on a cheap cruise to Mexico. In Ensenada, you can visit wine country or go horseback riding on the Baja Bandidos Trail, and in Costa Maya, you can explore the spectacular Bacalar Lagoon.

Mexico is accessible year round, though the bulk of cheap cruises are offered between October and May. There are several types of itineraries depending on where you'd like to go and how long you'd like to travel; three to four night Mexican Baja cruises, longer Mexican Riviera cruises (typically seven or more nights), or Western Caribbean cruises that feature one or two Mexican ports. Most Mexican cruises leave from Southern California - San Diego, Los Angeles, or Long Beach - those some sail out of San Francisco, or Florida if heading to the Caribbean. Popular ports include Cabo San Lucas, Ensenada, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, and Manzanillo. Many cruise lines also bring a taste of Mexico onboard with dancing lessons, tequila tastings, and fresh Mexican cuisine.
