Skip the crowded touristy areas and unwind as you begin your journey through the Fern Gully on your way to St. Mary. This 3 mile stretch of pavement is aptly named due to the more than 300 species of ferns that have formed a shady tunnel along the roadway.
Once in the hills of St. Mary you will make your way to the Blue Hole, a natural limestone sinkhole with stunning aqua blue waters. Actually, this area features 2 holes - a small one at the bottom and a larger one at the top of the hill. Blue Hole is not an official attraction, so you won't find vendor kiosks or long lines here...just a peaceful oasis complete with lush vegetation and waterfalls. While here you can dive into the water, explore the cave behind the waterfall, hike along the river or just body wrap in the clay from the riverbank.
