Highlights of Vung Tau from Phu My

Your Vung Tau adventure begins with a visit to the famous Jesus Statue. Vung Tau is a small port city on a peninsula in southern Vietnam. While Buddhism is the most common religion here, Christianity also thrives. Perched 550 feet high on Nho Mount, the 100-foot-tall statue of Jesus stands with arms outstretched. You'll have time to admire it from below, and guests who wish may climb the steps to the base of the statue for sweeping views of the city and shoreline.

Afterwards, your guide will offer refreshing drinks before taking you to Niet Ban Tinh Xa (Nirvana Pagoda) or the Lying Buddha Pagoda, home to a magnificent 40-foot rose-marble Buddha. Don't miss the chance to drum the giant bronze bell for good luck.

From there, you'll explore the White Palace, the opulent summer residence of Bao Dai, Vietnam's last emperor. Lunch follows at a local seafood restaurant, after which you'll visit the Whale Temple, built to honor a whale that washed ashore more than a century ago.

Your final panoramic view comes at the landmark Lighthouse, standing nearly 600 feet above sea level.

After soaking in the views, your guide will return you safely to the ship, ending a day filled with coastal charm and cultural discovery.
