Disney Cruises Health & Safety Protocols
Disney Cruise Line no longer requires Guests to be vaccinated and tested for COVID-19 before sailing. Please be aware that health and safety measures can change at any time. Disney Cruise Line adheres to local laws, regulations and protocols in place at all home ports and ports of call, including those related to health and safety. Guests should review and stay up to date with any cruise-specific requirements, restrictions or recommendations that may be in place for travel to these destinations.
Disney Cruise Line employs rigorous sanitation standards and consistently receives among the highest possible scores on public health inspections. Disney also has a comprehensive plan that outlines protocols for managing illness and Disney closely follows the guidance of public health officials. Some of these procedures include:
- Training for all of Crew Members on how best to prevent the spread of illness on board.
- A health questionnaire completed by all Guests and Crew Members before boarding the ship to screen for illness.
- Extensive cleaning and sanitation of common-area surfaces (e.g., handrails, doorknobs and elevator buttons) as well as of children's facilities.
- Comprehensive cleaning of all staterooms twice a day, plus additional disinfection when necessary.
- Health Centers on the ships staffed with experienced doctors and nurses and stocked with supplies and medications to treat a variety of illnesses.
Wheelchairs and Other Personal Mobility Equipment
Most public spaces on the ships-including theaters, restaurants and shops-are wheelchair accessible. Accessible public restrooms are also available. Wheelchair-accessible staterooms feature a 32-inch entrance door and a wider path of travel inside the stateroom. Typical staterooms have a narrower entrance door (23 inches) and may not have the interior space to accommodate mobility equipment.
Please note the following regarding the use of wheelchairs and mobility devices on a Disney Cruise Line ship:
- You must provide your own wheelchair or other mobility aid and arrange for the rental, delivery and pickup of that device to and from the ship on your own.
- Certain activities, like accessing a pool or using a tender boat to visit a port of call, require Guests to transfer out of their wheelchairs.
- Disney strongly recommends that Guests using wheelchairs sail with someone who can physically assist them when necessary.
- Due to safety regulations, wheelchairs, scooters, strollers and other personal belongings may not be stored in public passageways and must be stored inside staterooms or in a designated public storage area.
American Sign Language Interpreters
Disney Cruise Line offers a number of services for Guests with hearing disabilities, including scheduled American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters for a variety of onboard shows and entertainment. The Sign Language service supports a schedule aligned with the Main (first) Dinner seating and the Second (late) performance in the Walt Disney Theatre.
ASL interpreters are shared by all Guests requesting the service and must be confirmed by the Disney Cruise Line Special Services Department by the stated submission deadlines or interpreters cannot be provided. Please submit requests via the Request Special Services Form.
