Espiritu Santo, Vanuatu

The island of Espiritu Santo is full of activities for those who've a full day of adventure planned, and enough tranquil beaches and shade for those who plan to soak in the island's rays of relaxation. Custom tours can be arranged on the island, as well as easy walking and trekking through the many conservation areas on the island. A bit of a sweat-breaking trek that's well worth it is the trek to the picturesque Millennium Cave; which takes you through majestic walkways, climbs, canyons, and rivers that lead you to the rewarding waterfalls at the end of your journey. Fishing and horseback riding are among the local hobbies that tourists are welcome to take part in.
WWII history is all over the island and beneath it's waters if you care to look: The island is renowed for the SS President Coolidge shipwreck, one of the most accessible shipwrecks in the world; where you can scuba dive and explore the underwater museum of history up-close. Snorkellers can visit equally amazing sites, like the beautiful and plentiful reefs, or the underwater 1945 American war surplus graveyard. On land you can tour the many WWII military supply bases and airfields, as well as the local bars who hold onto bits and pieces of the American history left behind.
