Viviers, France

Located in the south of the department, Viviers enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with mild winters and hot and dry summers which favour wine growing and fruit farming. Viviers is situated near the Gorge of the e and the famous castle of Grignan.

Viviers' considerable architectural heritage is a testament to its intense religious and commercial past, from the 3rd century up to now. Viviers is home to many important Roman remains worth admiring; both Medieval and Renaissance buildings (the house of No Albert), and private mansions of the 18th century.

This historical wealth has allowed the small town of Viviers to become one of the three closely protected listed sectors in the Rhone Alps region.
