In addition, Emerald continuously implements the newest insights to help safeguard the health and safety of the guests and staff, while ensuring the best guest experience possible.
Before your Departure
Being prepared for a range of eventualities provides peace of mind while you're on your river cruise. As such, Emerald recommends you consider purchasing travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances that may arise, such as medical or repatriation needs.
Guests no longer need to provide proof of their COVID-19 vaccination to sail with Emerald, though, please be aware that some of the destinations Emerals travels to may require proof of vaccination before you're admitted entry into the country. Emerald recommends having your records with you while travelleing as a precaution, and to be aware of any developments.
As your departure draws nearer, Emerald will be in contact, sending across any travel documents you may need and providing updates.
Embarkation
Emerald has adjusted the various touchpoints of your journey, allowing you to check in and check out in a completely contact-free way. Through a phased embarkation, you will be able to arrive and depart from your Star-Ship smoothly and with safe social proximity in mind. And, of course, every time you return to your Star-Ship, the crew will be there to greet you with a warm smile.
On Board
The captains, hotel managers, and cruise directors, alongside their exceptional teams, will deliver a first-class level of service during your time travelling with Emerald. They will ensure health and safety protocols are followed on a daily basis.
The on board crew will be increasing and enhancing the already frequent and high standard cleaning protocols in public areas and suites, leaving surfaces and spaces spotless. Additional care and attention will be paid to high contact zones, such as communal restrooms and dining facilities.
The spacious surrounds of the Star-Ships in combination with the guest numbers provide ample room for you to relax, allowing for an abundance of personal space. Emerald is introducing contact-free movement across the vessels to further reduce risks. Contact-free hand sanitiser dispensers will be readily available in all public spaces and guest corridors on board, whilst automated doors and contact-free guest servicing will minimise the number of touchpoints.
The river ships are also equipped with air circulation systems. These systems ensure there is no re-circulation of inside air on board. When you are relaxing in your stateroom or suite, you will be breathing air from outside that is channelled directly to your stateroom or suite. The air will also be released from your stateroom or suite directly to the outside.
On Shore
As well as enhancing the health and safety protocols on board and with the crew, Emerald is working closely with the local partners. Emerald has forged long-standing relationships with their local partners, all of whom have been carefully selected for their expertise and high levels of service and are committed to ensuring your safety. They will receive extensive training to adhere with the enhanced protocols. Emerald will also introduce strict control and screening procedures for anyone boarding the Star-Ships.
You can also rest assured that Emerald will monitor social proximity, allowing you to travel safely, with plenty of personal space.
