Youth Programs: Best Cruise Activities for Kids & Teens

Loads of laughter and unforgettable experiences go hand-in-hand when cruising with your kids. Royal Caribbean's games, events, and cruise activities for kids are going on all over the ship throughout the day and into the evening hours, making family time a great time. And thanks to the award-winning Adventure Ocean youth program, children love their cruise vacation just as much as their parents.

Award Winning Adventure Youth Program

With the Adventure Ocean youth programs, not only will your children's time on board be fun, it will be educational too! Aquanauts (ages 3-5 years) will have fun conducting cool experiments and becoming Certified Jr. Adventure Scientists. The specially designed Explorers program (ages 6-8 years) is packed with exciting cruise activities for kids, which includes themed parties. Voyagers (ages 9-12 years) will explore a range of activities that puts the "cool" back into learning.

Late Night Party Zone

Kids and teens can enjoy activities into the late evening with extended hours in the Adventure Ocean and teen-only spaces. An hourly rate applies after 10:00 p.m. After Dark Fun for Kids on Royal Caribbean After a special family dinner, what better way for kids on Royal Caribbean ships to spend the night than partying with new friends at the Late Night Party Zone!

Babies & Tots Programs

Cruising with your baby was never easier. The Royal Babies & Tots program (ages 6-36 months) offers nursery drop-off sessions filled with age-appropriate activities and toys. All programs are hosted by trained youth staff. (Nursery drop off not available on: Adventure, Explorer or Jewel of the Seas).

Teens & Tweens Program

Whether hanging out with other cruisers or checking out games, sports and parties are on your tween's agenda, the teen-only spots are the places to go. The Teen program also allows older kids the freedom to come and go as they please. They'll love it so much the only thing you might wish for is a little more time with your kids.

Royal Caribbean break kids and teens out into age groups so that they can enjoy specialized programs made to expand their imaginations in interactive, multi-room spaces designed just for them. It's an awesomely fun, totally edu-taining adventure. Here are the spots and activities the younger ones can enjoy during your cruise vacation:

Teen Lounge: Age-appropriate activities tailored to teens, ensure you'll never hear them say "I'm bored" on this vacation.
Adventure Science Lab: Budding scientists and curious kids alike engage in all sorts of experiments at the Adventure Science Lab at Adventure Ocean - from fossil digs to junior chemistry.
Aquanauts: Bubbling science experiments. Dino-sized secrets just waiting to be uncovered. Adventurers ages 3 - 5 are engaged and entertained any time of day in the Adventure Ocean Aquanauts group.
Imagination Studio: Kids ages 6 - 12 can let their imagination free and bring their boldest ideas to life at Imagination Studio, the ultimate creative space at Adventure Ocean.
Adventure Ocean Theater: Circus Show, Pirate Show, Talent Show, plus countless theater games and performances. Adventure Ocean Theater makes kids the stars and lets them shine bright.
Babies and Tots Programs: The Royal Babies & Tots program offers nursery drop-off sessions filled with age-appropriate activities and toys.
Adventure Art: At Adventure Art, kids can exercise their creativity with cool crafts and culturally-inspired projects.
Adventure Ocean: It's time to play outside the lines - the award-winning Adventure Ocean is being totally reimagined. With wide open play places and dedicated spaces for all types of interactive activities, including head-to-head challenges, techy crafts and more, kids can choose their own immersive adventure.
Away We Go!: A smart, spunky 8-year-old, a shooting star, a midnight wish, and an incredible imaginary voyage the whole family can tag along for. Hold on to your seats, because Away We Go!
Voyagers: The Voyagers group at Adventure Ocean stokes the competitive spirit with sports tournaments and video game showdowns. Hosts talent competitions and scavenger hunts. And much more. Kids ages 9 to 11 welcome.
Teen Spaces: Let's face it, teens want the freedom to choose how they spend their time onboard. Now, 13 to 17-year-olds get an exclusive new lounge to call their own with music, movies, gaming - and even an outdoor patio hangout.
Explorers: Hands-on science experiments, arts and crafts, dance parties - even performing at the Adventure Theater - are just some of the activities that engage imaginations in the Explorers group at Adventure Ocean for kids ages 6 - 8.
Up and Away!: In the first glow-in-the-dark puppet musical at sea, colorful characters journey deep beneath the waves in search of treasure. Combining 3D effects and a mesmerizing blacklight set, this children's production at Adventure Ocean Theater is sure to sweep you up and away.
