Day 1 - Sunday - May 17, 2026
Upon arrival at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC), you'll be greeted, assisted with your luggage, and transferred to the hotel. Your local Alaska tour director will meet you at the hotel and assist with check-in. Hotel check-in begins at 4:00 pm. If you arrive earlier, you may leave your luggage with reception until your room is ready. Enjoy the remainder of the day at your leisure.
Day 2 - Monday - May 18, 2026

Check out after breakfast and board your coach to Talkeetna, where you'll board the train to Denali. The Deluxe Dome Railcar features two levels, with all passenger seating located on the upper level beneath large dome windows. A Rail Guide will provide commentary along the journey. This 122-mile route (approximately 4.5 hours) offers an ideal introduction to the vast landscapes and remote beauty of Alaska. Upon arrival in Denali, check into your hotel and enjoy the evening at your leisure.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before joining other Alaska travelers on the "Tundra Wilderness Tour" into Denali National Park. Magnificent wildlife, vast tundra, and the towering Denali are among the highlights of this world-famous park. The driver-guide will share information and stories about the park, while pointing out wildlife. A boxed lunch is included today. You'll also attend a presentation by a local Naturalist at the Denali Discovery Center, followed by a wine and cheese reception. Return to the hotel, with the remainder of the day free to explore the area or enjoy the hotel's facilities. Dinner is on your own this evening.

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and travel from Denali to Anchorage. En route, you will stop in Palmer for a presentation about farming in Alaska and the history of the people who colonized the area, given by a true Alaskan local. Today, Palmer is a garden hub for the state, where the unique microclimate produces remarkable giant vegetables. Next, transfer to the Anchorage hotel, allowing time to relax and refresh before regrouping for a farewell dinner.
Day 5 - Thursday - May 21, 2026
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then meet in the lobby. Depart the hotel and travel to Girdwood, where you'll board the Aerial Tram* for a three- to seven-minute scenic ride from Alyeska Resort to the top of Mt. Alyeska. At an elevation of 2,300 feet, you'll enjoy views of Turnagain Arm, up to seven "hanging" glaciers, and endless peaks deep within the Chugach Mountain range on a clear day. Next, visit the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, a sanctuary dedicated to preserving Alaska's wildlife through conservation, education, research, and quality animal care. Upon arrival, you will meet your local guide, who will show you around the facility and introduce you to the local "residents". Afterwards, you'll be escorted to the Whittier pier to board your Azamara cruise. *Please note: As the Alyeska Aerial Tram is not open in May, the visit will be replaced by the Alaska Native Heritage Center, the premiere cultural center representing all Alaska Native cultures, peoples, and ways of life.
